Tiivistelmä
This study explores Person Centered Care in elderly care homes from nurses’ perspectives while focusing on its benefits, best strategies, and implementation challenges. The purpose of the study is to explain person-centered nursing care for older people in care homes from nurses’ perspective. Although PCC is has many benefits to older adults, there is still a gap in knowledge especially its application in care homes. The study aim includes to provide information on the person-centered nursing for older people in care homes that would help nurses familiarize and commit to person-centered care.

The study entails a qualitative study and thematic analysis where peer reviewed articles of between 2015 and 2025 were used. The reviewed articles were retrieved from CINAHL (EBSCO) and ProQuest. The study findings showed that PCC promotes participatory decision making, satisfaction, and improved life quality in terms of spiritual, emotional, social, and physical well-being. This is attributed to the fact that PCC involved individualized care and relationship building between nurses and residents in care homes. The findings also revealed that the effective implementation of PCC requires support from organization leaders, enough staffing and resources, and appropriate training or education of nurses about PCC and its implementation.
