Tiivistelmä
HEIs are supporting D&I practices/values/policies, among other initiatives, such as multicultural support, faculty training, and diversity as part of their culture. The focus is on providing better guidance during academic years and fostering stronger cultural collaborations. D&I should go beyond policy, becoming part of everyday learning through inclusive communication, accessible resources, and a culture that values diverse perspectives.
This research explores current D&I processes at HEIs, how the D&I initiatives are perceived, and what the current strengths, weaknesses, and needs are for improving D&I. The purpose of the current research is to propose recommendations by developing a model framework that enhances students' D&I processes at the Laurea UAS.

The knowledge base focuses on current D&I processes at HEIs, biases, developments, and how an organisation can support D&I. The research involves qualitative and constructive approaches, with the process structured using service design methods and tools.

Based on empirical research and theoretical knowledge resources, D&I from students' perspectives involves students as the center of the process, as they are the primary consumers of D&I services and support in HEIs. Findings mainly pointed to four main elements. First, state all the D&I practices and values that the organisation supports; establish a timely feedback mechanism on D&I processes from students' perspectives; ensure clear communication that supports D&I; and provide clarity on career development and internship opportunities, which might enhance students' D&I processes at Laurea UAS. The proposed model framework was developed based on the four identified elements.

The developed model framework has practical implications and contributes to the research literature, as it can be easily applied to other organisations to inform policy and decision-making and to offer student perspectives on D&I processes.
