Tiivistelmä
This thesis critically examines the onboarding practices at N-Clean, a Finnish cleaning service provider, and explores how they can be improved to enhance employee integration, retention, and productivity. The study adopts a qualitative design, drawing on semi-structured interviews with both N-Clean employees and external managers to identify challenges, strengths, and gaps within current onboarding processes.
Thematic analysis revealed recurring issues such as insufficient training, unclear job responsibilities, language barriers, and inconsistent supervisory support. Comparisons with best practices from external managers highlighted structured training, mentorship systems, and culturally sensitive approaches as key strategie for successful onboarding.
Findings suggest that N-Clean’s onboarding is functional but fragmented, relying heavily on informal peer support rather than systematic frameworks. The research concludes with practical recommendations, including the implementation of standardized onboarding programs, enhanced supervisor involvement, and multilingual support systems. By bridging these gaps, N-Clean can create a more inclusive and effective onboarding process, ultimately fostering employee satisfaction and long-term retention.
