Abstract
Market research is important in helping businesses validate their product ideas before entering international markets. Doing it the right way, it reduces uncertainty when developing new business ideas and products.
The main core of this thesis is a step-by-step guide. The guide will support companies in assessing competitive international markets, product viability, and understanding the needs of customers. To support the thesis, this study uses reliable articles, frameworks and insights gathered from expert interview by Business Joensuu.
The guide will show all the important steps in order to accomplish a successful market entry, from defining a product idea to a final decision whether to proceed with the idea. The results provide entrepreneurs with clear steps, when followed according to the instructions, can contribute to successful entry or a wise “no-go” decision.
The thesis ends to a discussion part. It discusses the thesis findings, implications, strengths, limits, and recommendations for future research.
