Tiivistelmä
This thesis, commissioned by the team leader at Posti’s Postintaival 9 logistics center in Helsinki region, aims to explore the experiences of Posti’s night-shift workers and identify the factors that influence their satisfaction, motivation and overall experience. Posti’s night work operations are a key part of the overall logistics business, yet the employee experience and challenges have received limited attention. The theoretical framework of this thesis consists of employee experience, job motivation, job Satisfaction , The Job Demands Resources Model and Communication. These theories explain how working environment affect employees views on their night-shift tasks.

The study applied a qualitative method approach using semi-structured interview with three participants working in Posti: one team leader and two delivery employees. The interviews questions investigated staffs experience, challenges and their improvement suggestions. The key findings indicate problems with substandard winter equipment, unclear communication, inconsistent recognition and strong effects on daily life. Development suggestions recommend better winter gears, clear pre shift communication and systematic recognition, improved shift scheduling and stronger managerial support.

The results highlight the importance of comprehensive employee management practices in the logistics sector, especially during night work. Applying the proposed measures can enhance employee wellbeing, boost motivation and increase the efficiency of service operations at Posti.
