This Thesis was made as an assignment for K.H. Renlund Museum in Kokkola. The Thesis was made to find out the prevailing situation concerning the work atmosphere and motivation at the K.H. Renlund Museum, and what are the affecting factors. The Thesis is created as a helping tool för the management of the K.H. Renlund Museum.
The strategies of the town of Kokkola and the introduction of the K.H. Renlund Museum are discussed. The Thesis introduces theories concerning the main topics of the research, i.e. work motivation, atmosphere and communication, followed by the research itself. As there has been several studies performed before, some of the findings in the Thesis were not surprising, but also some new aspects were found.
