Lasten kliiniset hoitotoimenpiteet : Opetusvideo – kuinka lasta pidetään toimenpiteiden aikana

Abstract

Sairaalassa tehtävät erilaiset toimenpiteet ja niihin liittyvät pelot ovat monilla lapsilla sairaalassa käydessään tuttuja asioita. Etenkin pienet lapset tarvitsevat ymmärtävää ja asiantuntevaa hoitohenkilökuntaa sekä vanhempiaan, jotka tuovat lapselle suojaa ja turvaa. Ensimmäiset kokemukset sairaalakäynnistä ja siellä tehtävistä toimenpiteistä määrittää sen, miten lapsi kokee seuraavat käynnit. Siksi onkin tärkeää, että asioihin on perehdytty hoitohenkilökunnan sekä vanhempien osalta. Sairaalassa lapsen sekä vanhempien ohjaus on erityisen tärkeää kuten myös oikeat toimenpideotteet.

Video on nykyaikana erittäin tehokas tiedonantaja. Hyvänä ja tiiviinä pakettina siitä saa kokonaisuuden, joka opettaa katsojaa ja antaa hänelle avaimia toimimaan tulevana ammattilaisena paremmin. Opinnäytetyö on toteutettu toiminnallisen opinnäytetyön ohjeita mukaillen. Toteutimme opinnäytetyön teorian pohjalta videon, jossa keskitytään lapsiin kohdistuviin toimenpiteisiin, vanhemman ja lapsen valmisteluun, sekä toimenpideotteisiin. Oikeat otteet ja ohjeistukset toimenpiteissä luovat lapselle turvaa toimenpiteen aikana ja ne ennaltaehkäisevät sairaalapelkoja.

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on toimia opetusmateriaalina videon muodossa opiskelijoille. Ensisijaisena tavoitteena on se, että opinnäytetyöstä syntyy hyvä opetusmateriaali joka perustuu tutkittuun tietoon, ja joka tarjoaa tietoa vanhempien ja lasten valmistelusta tutkimuksiin ja toimenpiteisiin, sekä antaa tietoa lasten kiinnipitämisestä toimenpiteiden aikana. During hospital visits, different procedures and the fears associated with them are a common issue for children. Small children, especially, need a professional and understanding hospital staff as well as their parents to create a sense of security. The first experience of a hospital visit and the procedures during the visit determine how a child will experience the subsequent visits. Because of this, it is important for the staff and the parents to be well informed. The correct way of instructing and educating the parents and the child during a procedure is important as well as the correct way of handling the child.

The video is a very efficient medium for the delivery of information. As a well-made and concise information package, it can educate the viewers and also give them key points on how to work in the right way as well as improve as future practitioners of nursing. This thesis was implemented according to the principles of a functional thesis. Based on the theory of this thesis, a video was produced demonstrating children’s treatment procedures, the preparation of the parents and the child for the procedure and also the correct ways of handling the child during the procedure. The correct ways of handling and the instructions for the procedure create a sense of security for the child during the procedure as well as prevent fears.

The aim of this thesis was to produce an educational video for the students. The primary objective was that the thesis would provide good educational material based on research information. Moreover, the purpose was that it would offer information on the preparation for examinations and procedures for both the parents and the children. It would also provide information about handling a child during a clinical procedure. This thesis can be used for educational purposes in nursing studies in universities of applied sciences.
