Integraatio potilastietojärjestelmä Acuten ja laboratorion välillä

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoite oli tutkia ohjelmistoyhtiö Vitecin terveydenhuoltosektorin osaston – Vitec Healthin – integraatioiden käyttöönottoprojektien tämän hetkistä tilannetta. Tämän lisäksi opinnäytetyössä tutustuttiin terveydenhuollossa käytössä oleviin standardeihin ja yleisiin teknologioihin, joita integraatioiden kehityksessäkin käytetään. Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli löytää haasteet, joita käyttöönottoprojekteissa esiintyy, niiden laajuus sekä keinot, joilla haasteista voidaan päästä eroon. Opinnäytetyöllä oli myös tarkoitus kasvattaa tekijän kokonaiskuvaa Vitec Healthin sisäisistä prosesseista, käyttöönottoprojektien läpiviennistä sekä integraatioiden kehityksestä.

Tutkimus tehtiin kvalitatiivisia menetelmiä käyttäen. Tutkimuksessa haluttiin saada yksityiskohtainen kuva integraatioiden käyttöönottoprojektien työvaiheista sekä käyttöönottoprojekteissa esiintyvistä haasteista. Tutkimuksen aikana toteutettiin Vitec Healthin asiakkaalle laboratorio integraatio, jonka pohjalta pääosa projektin työvaiheisiin perustuva tutkimus tehtiin. Lisäksi opinnäytetyötä varten haastateltiin kahta Vitec Healthin työntekijää, joilla on laaja asiantuntijuus integraatioista sekä asiakkaan ja käyttäjän näkökulmasta sekä teknisen toteutuksen ja käytettävien teknologioiden näkökulmasta.

Asiantuntijoiden haastattelulla saavutettiin haluttu lopputulos, joka oli saada lisätietoa käyttöönottoprojektien haasteista, joita ei projektia seuraamalla voitu havaita. Lisäksi haastatteluissa saatiin selville asiantuntijoiden näkemyksiä kehitysehdotuksista sekä haasteiden syistä. Haastatteluiden lisäksi käyttöönottoprojektia seuraamalla ja integraation toteutuksessa mukana oleminen tuotti halutun lopputuloksen. Projektin tarkastelu antoi tarvittavat tiedot eri haasteiden tunnistamiseen sekä niiden esiintymisen syihin. Näiden tietojen pohjalta luotiin kehitysehdotuksia käyttöönottoprojektin suurimpien haasteiden selättämiseksi.

The purpose of this thesis was to make a study for Vitec. Vitec is a software company that produces electronic medical record called Acute and also other tools to be used in the daily life of a healthcare industry professional. The study was made to find out what are the most effecting challenges of the laboratory deployment projects in Vitec. The aim of the study was to investigate why the challenges occur and how to surpass them.

The study was made by using qualitative methods. Two employees of Vitec were interviewed. The study also contained a project for a customer that was examined closely and studied separately. The study of the deployment project was influenced by other similar projects as well as the one made to the client. Some of the gained information was received by working and listening co-workers and participating in other similar projects. This gave more reliable results about the challenges that occur during this kind of projects. The results of the projects study were analyzed and included in the results.

The results of the whole study were mostly what were expected. Solutions were given to all challenges. Some new point of views were also found that were not excepted. Thought a number of suggestions for development were given room for improvements can still be found. These improvements need to be done to make the deployment projects faster and more fluent.
