Perheiden osallisuuden seuranta lasten toimintaterapiassa : Kehittämistyö ToiminnanTaika Oy:lle

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli edistää perheiden osallisuutta kuntoutuksessa ja varmistaa sen toteutuminen osana lapsen kuntoutusprosessia. Tavoitteena oli kehittää toimeksiantajalle työkalu perheiden osallisuuden arvioimiseksi toimintaterapiaprosessissa ja arvioida kehitetyn työkalun sisällön validiteetti. Toimeksiantaja on Pohjois-Karjalan alueella toimintaterapiapalveluita tarjoava ToiminnanTaika Oy.

Opinnäytetyö on laadullinen teoriapainotteinen kehittämistyö. Työkalun, eli kyselyn, sisällön validiteettia arvioitiin pilotoimalla ja fokusryhmähaastattelulla. Pilotointiryhmänä olivat Kelan vaativaa lääkinnällistä kuntoutusta saavat lapsiperheet, jotka olivat yrityksen asiakkaina otantajaksolla. Pilotointi toteutettiin kesäkuussa 2016 ja sen tuloksia ei julkaistu opinnäytetyössä niiden salassapidettävyyden takia. Fokusryhmään valittiin yrityksessä työskentelevät kolme toimintaterapeuttia. Fokusryhmähaastattelun aineiston analyysitapana on käytetty teemoittelua.

Kyselyn sisältö koettiin fokusryhmähaastattelussa pääosin validiksi. Kyselyllä arvioidaan perheiden osallisuutta ja se auttaa kehittämään yrityksen toimintaterapeuttien työskentelyä. Erityisen hyvänä kyselyssä pidettiin sitä, että se nostaa esille perheen oikeuksia osallistua ja päättää heitä koskevista asioista. Kyselyä muokattiin pilotoinnin tulosten ja fokusryhmän haastattelun palautteen pohjalta. Lopulliseen kyselyyn valikoitui 19 kysymystä.

Opinnäytetyössä kehitettyä kyselyä tullaan hyödyntämään yrityksen asiakkaiden osallisuuden mittaamiseksi ja edistämiseksi.

The purpose of the thesis was to improve the level of families’ participation during their children’s rehabilitation and to ensure that it would become a part of the rehabilitation process. The aim of the thesis was to develop a tool for the assignor for evaluating the level of families’ participation in the process of occupational therapy and to evaluate the content validity of the developed tool. The assignor company was ToiminnanTaika Ltd, which is located in North Karelia.

The thesis was a qualitative developmental work with an emphasis on theory. The content validity of the tool, a survey, was estimated by piloting the survey and by conducting a focus group interview. The piloting group consisted of families who were clients of KELA and received medical rehabilitation for severe disabilities. The piloting was implemented in June 2016. The results were not published in the thesis because of their confidential nature. The focus group consisted of three occupational therapists who worked for the company. The method of analysis was thematising.

The content of the survey was considered mostly valid in the focus group interview. The survey is used to evaluate the level of participation of families during the rehabilitation process and it helps the company to develop the quality of the work of their occupational therapists. The strength of the survey was considered to be the fact that it highlights the rights of the families to participate and make decisions regarding their rehabilitation process. The survey was edited based on the results of the pilot and the focus group interview. The final form of the survey consisted of 19 questions.

The survey will be used to evaluate the level of participation of the company’s clients.
