Hiljaisen raportoinnin kokeilu

Abstract

Tämän projektiluontoisen opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli toteuttaa hiljaisen raportoinnin kokeilu palvelutalo Ruskakodissa ja Ruskahovissa. Kokeilu toteutettiin kummassakin palvelutalossa kahdessa työyksikössä ajalla 25.1.-7.2.2016. Kokeilun tavoitteena oli kehittää hoitohenkilökunnan kirjaamista ja tiedonvälitystä. Hiljaisen raportoinnin kokeilun tuloksia voidaan käyttää tulevaisuudessa uuden raportointikäytännön käyttöönotossa.

Ennen kokeilua pidettiin luennot kummassakin palvelutalossa hiljaisesta raportoinnista. Luennoilla käytiin myös läpi toteutuspäiväkirja, jota hoitohenkilökunta täytti kokeilun aikana. Toteutuspäiväkirjaan merkittiin toteutunut raportointimuoto ja lisäksi siihen oli mahdollisuus kommentoida vapaasti. Hiljaisen raportoinnin kokeilu koski vain iltavuoron hoitohenkilökuntaa. Kokeilun jälkeen kerättiin jokaisesta kokeiluun osallistuneesta yksiköstä palautetta kyselylomakkeella.

Hiljaisen raportoinnin kokeilu toteutui vaihtelevasti yksiköstä riippuen. Toteutuspäiväkirjojen perusteella hiljaista raportointia toteutettiin enemmän Ruskahovissa kuin Ruskakodissa. Hoitohenkilökunnan töihin tulo pitkiltä vapailta ja sijaisten käyttö iltavuorossa olivat yleisimmät perustelut suullisen raportoinnin käytölle hiljaisen raportoinnin sijaan. Kyselylomakkeilla saadun palautteen mukaan tietokoneita pitäisi olla enemmän jokaisessa yksikössä ja kirjaamisympäristön kerrottiin olevan rauhaton.

Kokeilujakson jälkeen hiljainen raportointi on käytössä osittain yhdessä kokeiluun osallistuneessa yksikössä. Muut yksiköt eivät kokeneet hiljaista raportointia työympäristöönsä sopivaksi raportointimenetelmäksi. Jatkotutkimushaasteena voisi olla pidempiaikainen hiljaisen raportoinnin pilottikokeilu yhdessä yksikössä koskien jokaista työvuoroa ja huomioiden tässä opinnäytetyössä esille tulleet ongelmakohdat.

The purpose of this thesis was to implement an experiment in silent reporting in Ruskakoti and Ruskahovi care homes for elderly people. The experiment was carried out in both care homes in two work units from the 25th of January to the 7th of Febru-ary. The aim of the experiment was to develop care personnel`s documentation and communication. The results of this experiment in silent reporting can be used in in-troducing a new method of reporting in the future.

Lectures of silent reporting were held in both care homes before starting the experi-ment. During these lectures a journal which was to be filled out by the care personnel during the experiment was reviewed. The used method of reporting was recorded in the journal and there was also the possibility to comment the experiment freely. The experiment in silent reporting applied only to the care personnel working in evening shifts. After the experiment, feedback was gathered from the care personnel who took part in it with a questionnaire.

The experiment in silent reporting was carried out in various ways depending on the work unit. Based on the journals, silent reporting was implemented more in Rus-kahovi than in Ruskakoti. Care personnel returning to work from a long absence or using substitute personnel were two of the most common arguments for using verbal reporting instead of silent reporting. According to the feedback from the question-naires, there should be more computers in each work unit and the work environment is restless.

After the experiment in silent reporting is partly in use in one of the work units par-ticipating in the experiment. In other work units care personnel thought that silent reporting is not a suitable method of reporting to their work environment. A pilot project in one work unit is suggested to use silent reporting as the only method of reporting for a longer period of time whilst taking into account the problems discovered in this thesis.
