This thesis is about usability of the company Marckwort’s website. The purpose of this work is to investigate whether the company's websites operate in a desirable way. This thesis will examine and analyse the three key elements of the company's website. These three elements are the company newsletter, contact form and course calendar. The company wants to examine how quickly and smoothly the test subjects will find their way to these three elements. The website was launched in spring 2016 and with the help of this study, the company gets to know if the new Web pages’ function as the company wishes or if they require some changes. The method I will use in this work is eye-tracking. Eye- tracking is performed by a computer that records the test subjects eye movements and enter the results in so-called heat maps and gaze plots. With the help of the eye-tracking test results it is then possible to get statistics of how fast the test subjects observed the objects that were examined. The survey takes place in Arcada University of Applied Sciences and fifteen students from Arcada will participate in the investigation. The results are analysed and reflected on by using theory of human behaviour on the Web, different layout trends in web design and theory of usability on the web. The test results were clear and easy to analyse. All test subjects found the three elements within good times. Question number three was a little trickier to analyse and its results may contain a small error margin due to failure in focus with some test subjects.
