Tiivistelmä
The main research problems of this research were to identify the current leadership styles used in Vietnam and the expectations for the leaders in future. The main objectives were to ascertain the most and the least common leadership styles in Vietnam; to predict differences between the leadership styles used now and the expected leadership style to be used in the future; and to analyse the factors that have an effect on those differences.

In order to support the research, the theoretical background was provided, which included the definition of leadership, the most common-known leadership styles, and Hofstede’s cultural study. The theoretical information was found mostly in books, academic articles, and previous studies.

Both qualitative and quantitative research methods were utilized in the research. Two one hour semi-structured interviews were conducted with two high-position managers. The online platform survey was published for a week simultaneously, in order to get some quantitative data from the mass population. Lastly, researches from previous reports and Hofstede’s cultural study were done in order to provide secondary data about Vietnamese culture.

After the analysis, conclusions and findings answering research questions were demonstrated in the end of the study. Briefly, the most/least currently-used leadership styles in Vietnam were found surprisingly against the Vietnamese traditional culture in some perspectives. The expectations for future leaders, which was considered as a big challenge for people who will hold the leading positions, was also discovered. Some advice for more effective leadership styles were proposed.
