dc.description.abstract | The utilization of art is blooming in plenty of disciplines within healthcare fields. Its benefit and effect in nursing care have great potential awaits to be discovered and proven through numerous researches to promote more effective and professional application. Little re-search has paid attention to the receptive arts in healthcare.
The aim of the study was to investigate the value and possibility of integrating artistic intervention into nursing care in acute clinical settings. The purpose of the study was to raise the awareness of healthcare professional, especially nursing staff, towards the benefits brought by art in healthcare and promote its application in holistic nursing care in acute settings. Qualitative research method was used with themed interview as data collection method.
Three main findings were identified, themed as The Positive Vision, Challenge to Break-through, and Suggestions for Onset. Based on the findings, nurses generally possessed a positive vision toward integrating artistic intervention into nursing care in acute clinical settings. Some nurses were aware of the benefit of art in facilitating holistic care. It was also considered to be potential option as new method to implement nursing care. Nurses also have suggested primary ways of its realization in acute clinical setting. The value and possibility of artistic intervention in acute nursing have been proven and illustrated. Mean-while challenges also indicate that more effort would be needed to promote its development and to reflect its actual benefit in practice in a critical way. | en |
