The client of this thesis is Junior Chamber International Rauma (JCI Rauma). A functional product of this thesis was the planning and organizing the region C's Regional Congress.
The purpose of this thesis was to organize a high quality and memorable congress weekend where networking and training were the main goals of the participants. The congress was organized on 28.-30.9.2018 and it included both formal and informal program.
The theoretical part of this thesis familiarizes into the project management challenges as a part of event management. It also includes aspects of the operational event management.
This thesis studied the main elements of motivation of the JCI Rauma Members to in-volve and take part of projects. Results of the study showed that the main elements of the motivation are possibility to learn, the transparency and openness of the project manager and the commitment of the project team peers.
Based on the feedback of the Congress participants and the JCI Rauma members, the event fulfilled all their expectations. My self-evaluation also showed that the event fulfilled all the pre goals extremely well and that it is possible to organize large scale con-gress weekends at Rauma also in the future.
