Suojellun rakenteen purku ja uudelleenpystytys : Turun vanhan Börsin parvekekokonaisuus

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön aihe on vuonna 1904 rakennetun asemakaavassa suojellun teräsrunkoisen parvekekokonaisuuden purku ja uudelleenpystytys. Työn tavoitteena on tutkia historiallisesti arvokkaan parvekerakenteen rakennustapaa ja historiaa sekä kerätä parvekerakenteen uudelleenpystytykseen tarvittava tietoa. Sen lisäksi työssä on kuvattu parvekkeen säilyttävän purun prosessia ja siihen liittyvää dokumentointia.

Työn alkuosassa tutustutaan Turun keskusta-alueen rakennuskannan kehittymiseen viimeisien vuosisatojen aikana sekä rakennussuojelun toteuttamisen keinoihin. Teoriaosan toisessa puolessa kerrotaan teräsrakentamisesta yleisesti sekä teräsrakenteiden korjausmenetelmistä. Teräsrakentamisen lukuun on kerätty tieto, joka on oleellista puretun Vanhan Börsin parvekerakenteen uudelleenpystytyksen kannalta.

Opinnäytetyön tuloksena syntyi tiivis tietopaketti parvekerakenteen uudelleenpystytyksen varten, johon sisältyi muun muassa suoritetun purkutyön yksityiskohtainen dokumentaatio. Tietopaketin tarkoitus on helpottaa tarvittavan tiedon hakemista uudelleenpystytystyön suunnitelun vaiheessa.

Historiallisesti arvokkaassa kohteessa on onnistuneen korjaustyön kannalta oleellista, että kaikki työhön osallistuvat osapuolet ymmärtävät suojelun tarkoituksen. Vaikka arkkitehdit ja suunnittelijat tekevät korjaustöistä suunnitelmat, joiden tulee suojellussa rakennuksessa lähtökohtaisesti perustua vanhan rakennustaidon vaalimiseen, on suurin vastuu arvokkaan rakennusperinnön säilymisellä korjaustyön aikana työmaalla eli työn toteuttajalla.

The subject of this thesis was the process of dismantling and rebuilding of a steel balcony structure, which was built originally in 1904 and is protected by planning authority. The aim of the work was to study the history and construction method of the historically valuable balcony structure and gather information necessary for rebuilding process. The empirical part of the thesis includes among other things, a description of the completed dismantling process and the documentation work related to it.

The first part of theory section discusses the Turku city center building stock development during the last hundred of years, and the second chapter is about the implementation of building protection. The second half of the theory section consists of general information about steel and repair methods of steel structures.

The result of this work was a compact information package for rebuilding the balcony structure, which included also detailed documentation of the dismantling process. The purpose of the information package is to facilitate the retrieval of the necessary information during the planning phase of the rebuild.

From the viewpoint of successful renovation work, it is necessary that all the parties participating in the project understand the means of building protection. Even though architects and planners make plans, which in case of protected building should cherish the old architecture, the main responsibility of the preservation of the building heritage is carried by the worksite staff who execute the work.
