Miten lapsiperheitä tuetaan Suomessa? : opas perhetyön tueksi seurakuntaan

Abstract

Kehittämistyön tavoitteena oli kehittää Raision vapaaseurakunnan työtä lasten ja perheiden parissa ja sitä myötä tukea lapsiperheiden kokonaisvaltaista hyvinvointia. Kehittämistehtävänä oli laatia helppolukuinen ja käytännönläheinen opas seurakunnan työntekijöille ja vapaehtoisille tueksi heidän työhönsä perheiden kanssa. Oppaan tarkoitus on toimia niin perehdytysoppaana, kuin tietopakettina, johon palata aina tarvittaessa. Tavoitteena on lisätä seurakunnan työntekijöiden ja vapaehtoisten valmiutta ohjata tarvittaessa perheitä muiden palveluntuottajien tarjoamiin palveluihin sekä lisätä heidän rohkeuttaan ja omatoimisuuttaan ottaa huoli puheeksi perheen kanssa. Tavoitteena on lisätä osaamista ennaltaehkäisevän työn merkityksestä ja lastensuojelusta.

Menetelmänä kehittämistyössä käytettiin haastattelua. Viidelle seurakunnan perheenäidille toteutetuista haastatteluista kerättiin aineistoa oppaan sisältöön sekä tarpeellista tietoa seurakunnan perhetoiminnan kehittämiseen. Yhteistyön tukemiseen toimeksiantajan kanssa käytettiin keskustelua edistävää dialogisen keskustelun menetelmää. Lisäksi yhteistyö toteutui useiden säännöllisten palavereiden kautta kehittämisprosessin aikana.

Lopputuotoksena kehittämistyössä on 35-sivuinen opas: Perheiden tuki ja turva – Opas perhetyön tueksi seurakuntaan. Oppaasta noin puolet keskittyy ennaltaehkäisevään tukeen ja toinen osa lastensuojeluun. Opas sisältää tietoa muun muassa yhteiskunnan tuesta perheille ja perheiden hyvinvoinnin eri tekijöistä. Lastensuojeluosuudessa avataan keskeisiä käsitteitä sekä lastensuojeluprosessia. Lisäksi oppaassa on käytännön esimerkkejä sekä työvälineitä.

Yhteistyökumppaneilta kerättiin palautetta oppaasta sekä koko kehittämistyöstä kehittämiprosessin ajan. Opasta muokattiin saadun palautteen mukaisesti ja näin varmistettiin oppaan hyödyllisyys ja käytännöllisyys toimeksiantajalle. Oppaasta annettiin Raision vapaaseurakuntaan painettu versio. Lisäksi oppaasta tehtiin jaettava versio, jotta sitä voi hyödyntää tulevaisuudessa muissakin seurakunnissa. Tästä jaettiin linkki muun muassa Facebook-ryhmään, jossa on Suomen Vapaakirkon lapsi- ja nuorisotyössä toimivia henkilöitä ympäri Suomen.

The aim of the development work was to develop the work with children and families in Raision vapaaseurakunta and thereby support the overall wellbeing of families. The development task was to make a guide, which is practical and easy to read. The guide book is meant for the church’ employees and volunteers to support their work with families. The meaning of the guide is to be a part of introduction as well as a source of information to which you can return to when needed. The aim is to increase the employees’ and volunteers’ preparedness to refer families to familyservices if necessary and to increase the courage and independent initiative to bring up the worry with the family. One part of the aim is to increase the knowledge of the meaning of preventive work and child welfare.

A method used in this development work was an interview. Five mothers from the church were interviewed and the data of the interviews was used to the content of the guide book. Interviews also offered important information for the church’ development of the work with families. The method of dialogical conversation as well as regular meetings were used as methods for the collaboration with our cooperation partners during the development process.

As the end product of the development work is a 35 pages long guide: Families support and shelter – Guide for familywork in the church. Approximately half of the guide focuses on preventive support and the other half on child welfare. The guide contains information among other things about society’s support for families and different elements of families’ wellbeing. In the part of the child welfare central concepts and child welfare process are explained. The guide includes also practical examples and tools.

Feedback of the guide and the whole development work was collected during the development process. The guide was edited corresponding to the feedback. This way the guide’s usefulness and practicality for our partners were ensured. A printed version of the guidebook was given to Raision vapaaseurakunta. A computer readable version of the guidebook was made, so that also other churches can use it to support their work in the future. The hyperlink of this version of the guide was shared to a Facebook-group, which members work in child and youth work of Finland’s Freechurch’ around Finland.
