Offshore-projektin haasteet kansivarustelusuunnittelun näkökulmasta

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää offshore-projektin haasteita ja ongelmakohtia kansivarustelusuunnittelun näkökulmasta. Työssä käytettiin pohjana referenssiprojektia, joka on toimeksiantajayrityksen toteuttama kelluvan raakaöljyn käsittely- ja varastointilautan suunnitteluprojekti.

Työssä käydään läpi käsitteet ”offshore” ja ”kansivarustelusuunnittelu” yleisellä tasolla, minkä jälkeen käsitellään tärkeimpiä referenssiprojektissa esille tulleita haasteita ja ongelmakohtia esimerkkien avulla. Työn loppuun on kerätty ja analysoitu työn tekemisen aikana suurimmiksi nousseita ongelmakohtia sekä niiden aiheuttajia ja keinoja niiden mahdolliseen välttämiseen tulevissa offshore-projekteissa.

Työn lopputuloksena oli selvitys referenssiprojektissa ilmenneistä haasteista ja ongelmakohdista sekä niiden mahdollisista aiheuttajista. Suurimmat työn aikana esille tulleet haasteet olivat laitetietojen saaminen ajallaan ja suunnitteluvaiheiden päällekkäisyys. Laitetietojen puute aiheutti suunnittelutyön keskeytymisen ja suunnitteluvaiheiden päällekkäisyydestä johtuen suunnittelun jatkaminen aiheutti muutoksia myös aikaisemman suunnitteluvaiheen dokumentteihin.

Jotta projekti pystytään toteuttamaan suunnitellussa aikataulussa kansivarustelun osalta ja yllä mainitut ongelmat pystyttäisiin jatkossa välttämään, tulisi kaikkien laitteiden ja järjestelmien olla ostettuna tai tilattuna perussuunnittelun pohjalta ja niiden laitekohtaisten dokumenttien olla suunnittelijan saatavilla detail-suunnittelun alkaessa. Tällä tavoin suunnitteluvaihe pystytään toteuttamaan suunnitellusti ja ajallaan alusta alkaen.

The goal of this thesis was to compose a research about the possible problems and challenges in an offshore project from the point of view of deck outfitting design. The thesis is based on a reference project which is a floating crude oil production and storage platform design project carried out by the commissioning company.

The concepts “offshore” and “deck outfitting” are presented on a general level before going through the main problems and challenges using examples from the reference project. The biggest problems and challenges that came up during the thesis are summarized in the last chapter along with possible ways of avoiding those problems in future offshore projects.

The outcome of the thesis was a summary about the challenges and problems in the reference project. The greatest problems that came up during the thesis was the lack of vendor information about the equipment and overlapping of design phases during the reference project. The lack of vendor information caused an interruption in the design work and due to overlap in the design phases proceeding the design work caused changes also to the prior phase of design.

In order to complete the deck outfitting project in the given schedule and being able to avoid the problems mentioned above, all of the equipments and systems should be purchased or ordered based on the basic design phase and the vendor information should be available for the designer at the start oh detail design phase. This is how the detail phase can be carried out within the planned timetable.
