Erinomaiset työtavat turvallisuuden edistäjinä : VSSHP:n ensihoidon toimijoiden ja heidän yhteistyötahojensa LfE-raporttien analysointi

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää miten tehdyt raportit jakautuvat ensihoidon toimijoiden sekä heidän yhteistyötahojensa kesken. Lisäksi tarkoituksena oli kartoittaa, minkälaisia työtapoja raporttien mukaan pidetään erinomaisina ensihoidon toimijoiden ja ensihoidon yhteistyötahojen toteuttamina sekä minkälaisia toimintamalleja raporteissa esitetään heidän erinomaisten työtapojensa toteuttamiseen myös jatkossa. Opinnäytetyön tutkimus toteutettiin laadullisen sisällönanalyysin menetelmin. Aineistona tutkimuksessa käytettiin Learning from Excellence -raportteja, jotka on tehty Varsinais-Suomen sairaanhoitopiirin alueen ensihoidon toimijoiden toimesta vuoden 2017 lokakuusta alkaen opinnäytetyön aloittamisen ajankohtaan mennessä. Raportteja oli yhteensä 214 ja niitä oli tehty sekä ensihoidon toimijoista, että ensihoidon tyypillisistä yhteistyötahoista.

Raporteista noin neljä viidennestä koski ensihoidon toimijoita. Viimeisen viidenneksen raportit koskivat ensihoidon yhteistyötahojen toimintaa. Keskeisimpinä tuloksina sekä ensihoidon toimijoiden, että ensihoidon yhteistyötahojen erinomaiset työtavat koettiin yhteistyöhön, tilannetietoisuuteen, toimintaan ja henkilökohtaisiin ominaisuuksiin liittyviksi. Erinomaiset työtavat eivät ensihoidon toimijoiden mielestä ole yksittäisiä hyvin menneitä temppuja tai teknisiä taitoja, vaan liittyvät enemmän siihen, miten työstä voidaan tehdä mahdollisimman sujuvaa ja mielekästä kaikkien osapuolien kannalta. Ehdotuksia erinomaisten työtapojen hyödyntämisestä jatkossa olivat pääosin raporteissa mainittujen erinomaisten työtapojen toistaminen, lisäkoulutukset ja yhteisharjoitukset. Molempia ryhmiä koskevien raporttien ehdotuksista löytyivät myös yhteishengen luominen ja ylläpito sekä palautteen antaminen erinomaisesta toiminnasta.

The aim of this thesis was to determine the ratio of the reports written of the EMS practitioners to the reports written of their cooperative partners. Another purpose of the thesis was to determine the nature of the working methods that are considered excellent in the emergency medical services and the means to ensure that these methods can be carried out in the future.

The research of this thesis was executed by the methods of qualitative content analysis. Learning from Excellence reports written in the Hospital District of Southwest Finland from October 2017 to the date that the research started were used as the material of the research. The material consisted of 214 reports written of the emergency medical practitioners and their cooperative partners.

Around four fifths of the reports were written of the EMS practitioners such as emergency nurses, EMS field supervisors and Finnish Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (FinnHEMS) doctors, pilots and other crew members. Remaining one fifth of the reports were written of the cooperative partners of the EMS practitioners. The excellent working methods mentioned in the reports concerning both EMS practitioners and their cooperative partners could be divided into four main categories which were cooperation, awareness of the situation, action and personal qualities. It can be summarised that reported excellent working methods were mostly ways to make work as meaningful and effortless as possible for everyone. Technical skills and single tricks were in a minority in the reports. Repeating the method in question, development and training were mentioned in the reports as means to ensure that the excellent working methods can be used in the future. Feedback and maintaining a feeling of solidarity were also considered important as means to carry on with the excellent working methods.
