Tiivistelmä
The purpose with this master’s thesis was to study the possibility of using the Dutch Ener-giesprong energy efficiency renovation method in Finnish properties and buildings. The Energiesprong method focuses on modularizing energy efficiency renovations in buildings to decrease the threshold for an energy efficiency renovation. The master’s thesis provides knowledge about the Energiesprong method and the benefits and drawbacks with the method through the case study Kantvik’s school. The case study includes field measure-ments that support the thesis’ hypothesis about that modular energy efficiency renovations are financially sustainable and are needed in Finland. Another aspect in the master’s thesis was if modular energy efficiency renovations can be more financially motivated as bigger renovation entireties instead of as small separate solutions. This aspect was studied through the total concept method that analyses energy efficiency renovations as overall packages instead of as different separate improvements. The energy efficiency renovation’s overall package’s internal rate of return and profitability was calculated over a 30 years’ time using the total concept method.
Earlier studies about the Energiesprong method from Holland and Germany were used as a model for this master’s thesis. The Energiesprong method was carried out on the thesis’ case study; the Kantvik school in Kirkkonummi, Finland. The case study object was exam-ined thoroughly through earlier studies carried out on the object and through field meas-urements that were conducted on-site. An Energiesprong energy efficiency renovation package was constructed for the case study. The thesis’ results were achieved by combining the renovation package with the data and expertise Granlund Oy have about renovation costs in Finland. The positive result from this thesis shows that the Energiesprong method can be financially motivated to be included in upcoming energy efficiency upgrades of buildings in Finland.
