Tabita på Skrantabacken is a character in the series and it is her skits I have analyzed. Through feminist film analysis, I examined the power structures, sexuality and the stereotypical female role.
The purpose of this paper is to find out what happens when a medium is not based on the typical power arrangement in which the man is active and the woman is passive. With this thesis I aim to encourage filmmakers to overlook traditional female roles and stereotypical thinking regarding gender.
Tabita is not a stereotypical female role. She has a position in a comedy series that men usually tend to possess. Therefore, she has developed into a round character.
