Tiivistelmä
This Bachelor thesis was commissioned by HAMK Tech Research Unit as a part of Mechanical joints research project and High strength steel research project. The further experimental testing needs a new reaction frame on a bigger and more complex scale. Hence, this thesis report will be one of the solutions for the design of a test arrangement for further experimental tests of big projects. It could be a reference for process of analysis and design of a steel structure in the real life projects.
All testing cases were discussed taking into account all factors that could happen to create a full informative input data for the project. From an initial design sketch to the final production drawings, all steps were shown including structural analysis from Dlubal RFEM software, connection
verification from AutoDesk Robot to modelling and drawings editing in Tekla Structures. Also, this thesis could be an example of application of Finite element programs and BIM software into the structural design and analysis for a better workflow and transparency.
As a result of the thesis a detailed description of design steps was produced including imposed force research, design path and methodology, structural analysis and connection verification by software. Finally, execution drawings for workshop manufacture were produced. All calculations and analyses were done according to Eurocodes, National Annexes and HAMK Tech project requirement.
