SAP automation using Robot Process Automation

Abstract

This is a thesis about Robot Process Automation, RPA. A trending technology used in multiple business areas where all kinds of virtual office jobs are needed to perform faster and with excellence. RPA is relatively new subject and there is not much researched yet. This is a product-based thesis made by the commission of Neste. The thesis aims to find an RPA solution to the selected process. In the process new master data is created for a customer in SAP. The beginning encloses introduction and scope for the thesis followed by a theoretical frame that comprises brief company opening, common knowledge of RPA and tools for the case. The third part consists of review of the selected process, the steps of development and the process after automation. The process after automation includes a presentation of the functionality of the robot and a review of the suitability of the selected process for automation. In the last part is the conclusion, final words about the project, experience, learning and encountered problems and future of the project.
