Jokilinna on kuntoutuskoti mielenterveyskuntoutujille lähellä Euran keskustaa.
The purpose of the thesis was to organize a recreational day for men in the Jokilinna Housing Unit, which would promote inclusion and aimed at supporting communality spirit among male residents. Jokilinna is a rehabilitation home for mental health rehabilitators near the center of Eura. The recreational day was implemented from the perspective of customer-oriented nursing and the implementation method was project work. My own goal was to learn about the organization of the project and to make the recreational day as positive an experience as possible for all participants.
The thesis consisted of a written part based on theoretical information and a report part of the recreation day. The theoretical part of the thesis examines the mental health frame of reference and related concepts, as well as the importance of functional groups as a form of mental health rehabilitation. The functional part consisted of the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the recreation day.
The recreational day was held at Eura Sports Hall. The program included bowling and communal dining. Written feedback was requested from participants. The feedback from the day was positive and it also supports the Thesis Worker's view on activating mental health rehabilitators for similar activities in the future. In the future, the functional part can be utilized in the planning of various recreation days.
