Päihdepalvelut Turussa -opas kuntalaisille

Abstract

Suomen alkoholi- ja huumetilanne muuttui vuosituhannen alussa. Alkoholin kulutus sekä huumeiden käyttö lisääntyivät. Suomalaisten valtapäihteenä on edelleen alkoholi, mutta lisäksi muiden päihteiden käyttö on kasvanut. (Holmberg 2010, 29.)

Ennaltaehkäisevän päihdetyön merkitys on kasvanut huomattavasti ja siihen panostetaan valtakunnallisesti. Ihmisten asenteisiin ja tapoihin pyritään vaikuttamaan lakien ja toimintaohjelmien avulla.

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tehdä opas Turun kaupungin päihdepalvelupaikoista täysi-ikäisille kuntalaisille sekä heidän läheisilleen. Työn tilaajana oli Turun kaupungin hyvinvointitoimiala. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on tuottaa selkeää tietoa palveluista ja helpon löydettävyyden avulla auttaa kuntalaisia palveluiden piiriin hakeutumisessa. Työ toteutettiin toiminnallisena opinnäytetyönä. Tiedonhaussa käytettiin monipuolisesti tietokantoja, joista haettiin asianmukaisia tutkimuksia ja tieteellisiä artikkeleita, lisäksi tietoa haettiin kirjoista ja asianmukaisilta nettisivuilta.

Oppaassa kerrotaan yhteystietojen lisäksi, keskeiset asiat kyseisestä palvelusta, palveluun hakeutumisesta ja palvelun hinnoittelusta. Oppaan ajantasaiset tiedot etsittiin päihdepalvelupaikkojen omilta verkkosivuilta ja lisäksi oltiin sähköpostitse yhteydessä toimijoihin. Apuna tiedonhaussa oli myös työelämän yhdyshenkilö sekä Sirkkalan päiväkeskuksen johtaja.

Päihdepalveluopas tehtiin selkeäksi ja helppolukuiseksi. Toimeksiantajan kanssa sovittiin, että valmiin oppaan käyttö- ja julkaisuoikeudet ovat Turun kaupungilla. Opas tulee digitaalisessa muodossa Turun kaupungin www-sivuille, jolloin sen päivitettävyys helpottuu.

Oppaan tarkoitus on tuoda tieto näkyväksi myös kaupungin työntekijöille, jotta he pystyvät helposti antamaan tietoa asiakkaille. Ajatuksena oli oppaan tulostus työntekijöille, jotka mahdollisesti kohtaavat päihdeongelmaa sairastavan ihmisen.

In Finland, the alcohol consumption and drug abuse have increased at the turn of the millennium. Although the alcohol remains still the most common stimulant in Finland, the use of all major substances has increased among the Finnish population too (Holmberg 2010, 29). Thus, the prevention and intervention focused measures are increasingly needed nationwide. The main object of these measures targeting entire population and encompassing a wide range of laws, approaches and activities, is to change people’s consumption habits and attitudes towards intoxicants.

The purpose of this practice based thesis was to create a clear guidebook of all substance abuse service centres in Turku for its adult residents and their families. In addition to this, the study aims to provide information about treatment options and support services and more importantly to guarantee an easy access to them. The data has been collected from diverse sources to understand better the area of interest. In this specific study online research, scientific articles, journals and books have been utilized in abundance.

This guidebook includes, in addition to the contact information of all the service centres in Turku, also the range of services provided in these facilities as well as the cost of treatments. Most of the information has been gathered from the service centres’ own websites. Some information has been received via email as well. The working-life representative and the director of Sirkkala Day Activity Centre (Sirkkalan päiväkeskus) have also been the great help to the study.

The special attention has been paid to the requirements of the guidebook. It had to be first of all easily accessible but also very comprehensible to everyone. The City of Turku has the copyright for the guidebook. It will be published on the City’s web pages which lets the City edit the guidebook with ease.

With this guidebook the city of Turku wants to provide not only its customers but also its employees with the necessary information about substance abuse services. The printed paper version will also be published in the near future for the use of employees only.
