Tiivistelmä
Project handover from sales to project team and from project team to support has not been very well defined in Youredi. The organization is small, and the newly formed teams are yet to learn what has been done before in the organization. As the company is in its growth phase, it is time to define what must documented and how the handover needs to be done. This thesis examines what is lacking in the current process of project handover and what improvements is required for the documentation.

The thesis focuses on the research problem how the knowledge transfer can enable project transition in a growing company. Through this study, the researcher intends to define the steps for the handover process and emphasize on what changes is required for the documentation.

Research methodology used for this thesis is Interviews. The data was collected by interviewing the team members from all the three teams i.e. Sales, Professional Services and Support. The interviews helped in understanding viewpoints of each team member regarding the current process of handover and documentation. Collecting these inputs helped in defining the processes and changes to documents.

It was clear that there is lack of structure in what was taking place when a project starts off at Youredi and goes through each of the phases. The teams did not follow any process for handing over project from one team to another. The documentation template was defined but the everyone followed their own ways to document the project.
The thesis aims to define the responsibilities of the team members and structuring the necessary documents in driving the handover process.
