Tiivistelmä
Tämä tutkielma on osa Turun Taideakatemian (AMK) tanssinopettajan tutkintoon liittyvää opinnäytetyökokonaisuutta. Opinnäytetyön taiteellinen osuus on ryhmäkoreografia viidelle tanssijalle. Taiteelliseksi osuudeksi luodun teoksen työnimi on [minä]. Opinnäytetyön kirjallinen osuus keskittyy teoksen luovaan prosessiin.
Opinnäytetyössä on hyödynnetty muiden työryhmän jäsenten ajatuksia työprosessista. Lähteitä tutkimuksen taustalle on löydetty myös aiheeseen liittyvästä kirjallisuudesta.
Tutkimus on tehty koreografin näkökulmasta.
This study is written as partial fulfillment of the Dance Teacher Degree / Bachelor of Dance, at the Turku University of Applied Sciences, Ltd. The artistic choreographic part of the degree is a performance work for five dancers. The working title for the performance is [minä]. The study focuses on the creative period of the performance.
The thesis is a working group-oriented movement research that aims to create a performance, where the topic and themes of the piece can be witnessed in the movement through the eyes of the public. The goal is that the choreographer and the dancers are able to explain and question their choreographic decisions and to keep the message of the movement clear through the process and on stage. Also the habits and preferences of the dance artists are challenged.
The text is mainly based upon the writer’s and choreographer’s personal experiences and reflections. In addition, the dancers’ and the composer/musician’s experiences, reflections and literature found regarding the written topics, have been used as source material.
The study is written based on the choreographic point of views used in the artistic part of the thesis. The first section of the written part covers all the important starting points of the creative process. The following section is shedding light on the methods used by the choreographer and the dancers when creating and developing the movement language. In the last chapter, the process of making the performance and its findings will be reflected on.
The conclusion is to learn to analyse and describe choreographic decisions better as a dance artist. The main conclusion of this artistic thesis is to find methods for topic and theme -centered movement creations that can be used by choreographers, dancers and dance teachers.
