Tiivistelmä
Osallisuuden kokemus on edellytys ihmisen kokonaisvaltaiselle hyvinvoinnille. Elämäntilanteissa, joissa voimavarat ovat vähissä ja ihminen on vaarassa syrjäytyä, tarjoavat matalan kynnyksen palvelut mahdollisuuden sosiaalisen osallisuuden lisäämiseen ja mielenterveyttä tukevien voimavarojen löytymiseen.
Kiesi on Kaarinassa sijaitseva avoin kohtaamispaikka, jonka järjestämä toiminta tukee mielenterveyttä ja kohderyhmänä ovat erilaisia mielenterveyden haasteita kokevat, työikäiset henkilöt. Opinnäytetyömme tavoitteena oli luoda toiminnan näkyvyyden lisäämiseksi ja uusien kävijöiden tavoittamiseksi tapahtumakonsepti Kiesin käyttöön ja hakea uusia yhteistyökontakteja, joita Kiesi voisi myöhemmin hyödyntää. Toiminnallisessa opinnäytetyössämme järjestimme kolme pop up -tapahtumaa Kaarinan terveyskeskuksessa yhteistyössä Kiesin nykyisten kävijöiden kanssa.
The feelings of involvement are a crucial part of the well-being of a person. Services with easy access provide the means to increase the feelings of involvement and support the mental health of people with diminished resources who are in danger to become marginalized.
Located in Kaarina, Finland, Kiesi is a meeting place with a purpose of supporting the mental health of the working-age population. In our thesis, the goal was to increase the publicity of the work and recruit new visitors by creating a new concept of events for Kiesi. In addition, we aimed to find new contacts to utilize later. To achieve this, we organized three pop-up events in the Health Care Center of Kaarina in collaboration with current visitors of Kiesi. Our events had the purpose of exhibiting the work of Kiesi by practical examples. An important role was on the current visitors of Kiesi as they were a part of organizing the events. The activities included playing games, conversing with people and handing out brochures. This concept can be later utilized by changing the theme based on the location and the season in which the event is held.
As a result, we created an operating model that utilizes the resources of the visitors and enhances the feelings of involvement. Kiesi visitors got familiar with our concept as we involved them in the organizing of the events and thus, there is future basis for organizing similar events. In addition, we managed to recruit new contacts to help the work of Kiesi in the future. The publicity was limited to the customers and staff of the Health Care Center of Kaarina.
Organizing a pop-up event in a Health Care Center is a novel way to advertise the work of the third sector and to build collaboration between different sectors. We assume the people informed about Kiesi have a lower threshold to access the activities held in there and bring other people along. There is a need for work Kiesi performs as can be seen through the current visitors. However, no immediate increase in the visitor count of Kiesi was observed after the events.
