The goal of this thesis is to enhance webstore to be more customer friendly so that it’s sales increase and sales leads through the website for physical stores increase. The webstore already exists so the enhancement and development will be done by making webstores layout and usability more customer friendly and by search engine optimization.
This thesis is a diary thesis. It starts with theoretical information about webstores technical execution, layout and search engine optimization. After that there is weekly reporting of how I have executed that theoretical information in enhancing our webstore. At the end of this thesis is results of how those changes I made affected. Improvements are measured by comparing April 2020 to April 2019. New layout and all my changes were put live few days before April 2020. Amount of visitors are compared to March 2020 because there are no data for the amount of visitors from 2020. Comparing those months we can see that the amount of visitor in webstore increased 307%, sales went down 20% but there were 150% more buying customers and sales leads for physical stores increased by 400%. It’s worth mentitioning, that the covid-19 pandemic of 2020 affects these numbers. Also the numbers of stores that weren’t open in April 2019 have not been counted in any of these numbers.
Developing and enhancing webstore is an evergoing process. It never stops. From these results we can see that the changes made so far have improved our webstore by a lot. And judging from these results we can say, that webstore can suppor physical store by increasing the amount of sales leads through chat, forms and websales.
