Opas 3-5-vuotiaiden lasten kielen kehityksen tukemiseen

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön aiheena oli 3-5-vuotiaiden lasten kielen kehityksen tukeminen. Opinnäytetyö oli toiminnallinen ja sen tuotoksena osana opinnäytetyötä syntyi opas päiväkodin henkilökunnalle sekä lasten vanhemmille. Oppaan lisäksi opinnäytetyöstä laadittiin kirjallinen raportti.

Lapsen kehityksessä kieli ja puhe ovat alueita, joissa usein havaitaan erityisen tuen tarvetta. Varhaiskasvatuksen työntekijät ovat havainneet, että haasteet kielen kehityksessä ovat lisääntyneet viime vuosina. Kielen kehityksen tukemiseen paneutuminen sekä erilaisten keinojen ja menetelmien esille tuominen on siis hyvin aiheellista.

Opinnäytetyössä käsiteltiin lapsen kielen kehityksen vaiheita, kielen kehityksen haasteita sekä kielen kehityksen tukemista. Opas suunniteltiin 3-5-vuotiaiden lasten kielen kehityksen tukemiseen, joten raportissa käsiteltiin vain lyhyesti kielen kehityksen varhaisia vaiheita sekä rajattiin pois esikouluikäisten lasten kielen kehitys.

Opinnäytetyön yhteistyökumppanina toimi Uudenkoiviston päiväkoti Porissa. Yhteistyön tarkoituksena oli luoda juuri kyseisen päiväkodin tarpeita vastaava tietopaketti. Tiedonhankintamenetelmänä käytettiin monipuolisten kirjallisuus- ja verkkolähteiden lisäksi haastattelua, jossa haastateltiin neljää päiväkodin varhaiskasvatuksen opettajaa. Haastatteluiden avulla kerättiin opasta varten päiväkodissa käytössä olevia menetelmiä ja muuta käytännön tietoa päiväkodin keinoista lapsen kielen kehityksen tukemiseen.

The topic of this thesis was supporting child’s language development. This thesis was functional and by its progeny as part of the thesis was born a guide for the personnel in the kindergarten and children’s parents. In addition to the guide there was made a written report of the thesis.

In child’s development there are typically detecting special support in language and speech. The employees in early childhood education have noticed that the challenges in language development has increased in the last few years. So taking up to support language development and introducing different kind of methods and ways to support is very justifiable.

In this thesis there were talk about the periods of child’s language development, the challenges of language development and the support of language development. The guide was planned to support of language development for children at the ages from 3 to 5 so the early phases of language development was treated only shortly in the report and there was cut out the language development of preschoolers.

The cooperation partner in this thesis was kindergarten Uusikoivisto in Pori. The meaning of the cooperation was to create an information package just for the kindergarten’s needs. The information acquisition methods were literature and internet sources and furthermore interview where was interviewing few kindergarten teachers. With the interviews there was gathering methods and other practical information about kindergarten’s ways to support children’s language development.
