Sädehoitotyön fyysiset vaatimukset ja voimavarat röntgenhoitajien arjessa

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön sisältönä on röntgenhoitajien sädehoitotyön fyysisten vaatimusten ja voimavarojen ilmeneminen heidän arjessaan fyysisen työhyvinvoinnin näkökulmasta. Röntgenhoitajien työ on monella tapaa kuormittavaa, joten tarkastelut on rajattu vain sädehoidon modaliteettiin ja työn fyysisiin puoliin. Kansainvälisesti röntgenhoitajien jaksamista on tutkittu useammassa julkaisussa psykososiaalisesta näkökulmasta, joten on perusteltua tutkia sädehoitotyön fyysisiä vaatimuksia ja niistä palauttavia voimavaroja työn psyykkisten puolien sijaan. Teoreettiseen viitekehykseen on kerätty tietoa työn vaatimuksista ja voimavaroista, työhyvinvoinnista ja yleisesti työn ja etenkin potilassiirtojen kuormittavuudesta.

Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus on kuvata sädehoidossa työskentelevien röntgenhoitajien arjessaan kokemaa työnsä fyysisten vaatimusten ja niistä palauttavien voimavarojen välistä tasapainoa. Opinnäytetyöllä haluttiin selvittää kuinka fyysisesti vaativaksi sädehoidossa työskentelevät röntgenhoitajat työnsä kokevat, mitkä työtilanteet röntgenhoitajat kokevat työssään fyysisesti vaativimmiksi ja mitä voimavaroja röntgenhoitajat hyödyntävät työnsä fyysisestä vaativuudesta palautuessaan. Aineisto kerättiin sähköisellä kyselyllä toukokuussa 2020, jonka kohderyhmänä oli yhden yliopistosairaalan sädehoitopoliklinikan röntgenhoitajahenkilöstö. Aineisto kerättiin sähköisellä kyselyllä, joka lähetettiin 34 röntgenhoitajalle. Vastausaktiivisuus oli 50 %. Saatu aineisto analysoitiin määrällisin keinoin sekä laadullisin keinoin induktiivisesti.

Röntgenhoitajien työtehtävät sädehoidon osastolla esitellään työn alussa. Työn vaatimusten ja voimavarojen malli -joka toimii tarkastelujen lähtökohtana- ja yleisesti työhyvinvointia, työn fyysisiä vaatimuksia ja voimavaroja käsitellään sen jälkeen. Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus, tutkimusongelmat ja toteutus ovat seuraavana. Tulosten tarkastelu ja pohdinta päättävät työn.

The purpose of this thesis is to indicate the relationship and balance between the physical demands and resources in the daily radiotherapy work of radiographers. The point of view used for examining the results is from physical work wellbeing. Radiographers work is straining in many ways, so the inspection is restricted only to radiotherapy work and its physical traits. Many international articles have studied radiographers coping in radiotherapy work mainly from a psychosocial standpoint, so it is justified to study the physical demands and resources that help recover from them. For the theoretical frame of reference information was collected regarding job demands and resources, work wellbeing and generally the strain caused by work and especially patient transfers.

The objective of this thesis is to describe the balance between the physical demands and resources that the radiographers experience in their daily radiotherapy work. The research problems were how physically demanding radiographers find radiotherapy work, which work situations are found the most physically demanding in radiotherapy work and which resources radiographers utilize to recover from their physically demanding job. Material was collected with an internet survey in May 2020. The focus group was the radiographer personnel in one university hospitals radiotherapy outpatient clinic. The survey was sent to 34 radiographers and the answering rate was 50 % (n=17). The collected material was analyzed in ways of quantity and quality by inductive analyzing.

Radiographers many work assignments in radiotherapy are shown in the beginning of this thesis. The Job Demands and Resources –model -which works as the base of inspections for resultsand general work wellbeing, physical demands and resources are addressed after that. Objective of the thesis, its research problems and execution of the survey are next. Lastly inspections of the results gotten from the survey and reflection finish the thesis.
