The objective of this research is to study how the case company leadership can adopt agile release management for facilitating fast deliveries of cloud native products. The research studies what are the enablers of agile release management to develop and deliver products in chunks and realize revenue at the earliest. The research starts by forming research questions about leadership can influence adopting agility inside the case company. Relevant existing literature about agility, scaled agile framework, leadership styles, enablers of agile re-lease management e.g. DevOps, automation are studied, and knowledge is applied to the case company research. The research focuses on determining the case company’s present state in order to develop a relevant framework for leaders. Eventually a theoretical frame-work evolved for implementation of agility inside the case company.
This is a case study research and the researcher collected the data by conducting semi-structured qualitative interviews with the leaders who were chosen by judgment sampling. Data analysis is carried out using inductive method research design and by applying qualitative research strategy. Researcher has taken positivist attitude while presenting improvements for current processes and leader’s evolution.
The case company’s present state was found to be inadequate for implementing agile re-lease management. After analysis, the research creates a pilot plan for key development areas of the case company’s leaders by comparing the present state analysis to the developed theoretical framework. The research also produces a roadmap of process improvement needed to implement agile release management along with leaders’ evolution.
