Muuttuva taiteilija : Äänitaidetta yhteisnäyttelyyn

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön kirjoittaja on osallistunut yhteisnäyttelyyn ”Uppoaminen – voinko ottaa teltan mukaani” Oulussa lokakuussa vuonna 2020 galleria Valveella. Opinnäytetyön kirjallisessa osuudessa taiteilija pohtii jälkeenpäin omin sanoin, autoetnografisin menetelmin omaa taiteellista työskentelyään. Tavoitteena oli oman taiteellisen työskentelyn tilanteen selventäminen, jäsentäminen, kokoaminen, tutkiminen ja eteenpäin vieminen. Päiväkirjamerkinnät, muistiinpanot sekä nauhoitusretkillä ja ääni-installaatioiden asennus hetkellä galleriatilassa otetut valokuvat ovat olleet tärkeässä osassa kirjallisen työn aineiston kokoamisessa.

Opinnäytetyön kirjallisen osuuden työstäminen on antanut tekijälleen uusia ideoita tuleviin näyttelyihin, selkeyttänyt ja avannut äänitaiteen sisältä löytyviä käsitteitä. Kirjallisuudessa kohdatut äänitaideteokset ovat avartaneet käsitystä siitä, mitä kaikkea äänitaide voi olla.

The author of this thesis has participated in a group exhibition called “ Uppoaminen – voinko ottaa teltan mukaani”. The exhibition was held in Oulu in October 2020 at the Valve Gallery. In the written part of the thesis, the artist reflects on his own artistic work, using autoethnographic methods. The aim was to clarify, structure, study and take forward the situation of he’s own artistic work. Diary entries, notes and photographing when recording outside and setting up the sound-installations at the exhibition place, has been in an important role when collecting material to this thesis.

Working on the written part of the thesis has given the author some new ideas for future exhibitions, clarified and opened up the concepts found inside sound art. The works of sound art encountered in the literature have broadened the authors understanding of what sound art can be.
