An enormous number of robust face recognition systems has been around to help authorities and commercial companies to recognize people. While these systems work very well, a new problem came from nowhere that forced people everywhere to wear a medical face mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. These systems began to fail in the prediction that led to many problems. The efficiency of facial recognition systems can significantly deteriorate due to occlusions, such as medical masks, hats, facial hair, and sunglasses. This study illustrates the methodologies to recognition partly occluded faces alongside developing a new system that able to recognize masked faces.
