Tuoteomistajan rooli Demo Labissa tuli mahdolliseksi vasta Ticorporate 7-toteutuksessa v.2020.
Jatkotutkimus on tarpeen edistyneempien tuotekehitysmenetelmien tuottamiseksi tuoteomistajan sivutoimessa. Universities are constantly searching for ways to improve upon their degree programmes to respond to the rapidly changing requirements of businessess’ needs for professionals. The Business Information Systems degree programme of JAMK University of Applied Sciences has adopted unique approach to produce skilled and adaptable professionals by using Ticorporate Demo Lab business simulation, in which second-year bachelor students learn agile product development by developing games or software full-time in small teams.
Students participating in the simulation choose a main subject and a side subject to specialize in. Side subjects consist of Scrummaster, tester, business, content producer and Product Owner. The role of a Product Owner in Ticorporate was made available in 2020.
The objective of this study was to explore agile Scrum framework’s role of the Product Owner in Ticorporate business simulation via action research and how to develop it even further. The established theory of Scrum from the Product Owner’s perspective was studied as well as the needs and the structure of the Ticorporate business simulation. Existing Product Owner related material was analyzed, and current Product Owners’ experiences of the side subject were collected by group interview. Scrum theory, subject material, and interviewees’ experiences in relation to simulations’ Product Owner structure were crossexamined.
As a result of the analysis, development and implementation recommendations of basic product development practices were produced to existing material and subject structure to enhance the future iterations of Product Owner side subject. Further study is required for more advanced product development techniques for the Product Owner side subject.
