Som dynamiska bilder räknas all kamerarörelse. My thesis presents a theory on the motivations to the choice of dynamic pictures. The term “dynamic pictures” is used to refer to all camera movement and changes in the picture. In my research I divide dynamic pictures into four categories based on the original intent of the author of the picture, in this case the cinematographer. The four categories are: dynamic pictures that intend to interpret an event in the script, describe an event in the script, support the production team’s choice of style or create a sense of depth in the picture. The purpose of my thesis is to create a deeper understanding of the process to turn the written word to dynamic pictures. My research does not make any claims on the effect or interpretation of the pictures. My thesis is a literary study which is supported by an interview with cinematographer Robert Nordström, FSC, FSF. I conclude that there are many means of interpreting the motivation behind a camera mood . It is evident that the only motivation and intent that dynamic pictures need is to support the story by supporting the production teams’ style of choice.
