The purpose of this thesis is, with the help of a research survey, to find health promotion activities used in schools. The work has a health promotion perspective and the back-ground information deals with the concepts of health and health promotion, the young people's health and school as a health promoting arena. The research questions deal with activities that can be used to promote health, and how they can be used in schools. 12 ar-ticles were included and analyzed using a content analysis. The results show that health promotion activities are needed in schools and show good results. It is important to pro-mote physical, mental and social health, and to strengthen young people's self esteem and confidence. A good way to make young people aware of health, and to introduce a heal-thier lifestyle to the youth, is to let older students act as role models. Such an arrangement promotes health for both the older and younger students. Cooperation between different professional groups should be developed and also allow more professional groups to work in the school.
