In my thesis I describe my work as a multicamera-director during the opera project Eerik
XIV in November 2011. I am aiming to give the reader an overall picture of the project
and how I as a multicamera-director found my roll in the team and what I did. I write
both for persons interested in multecamera-directing and those who are partly or more
familiar with multicamera work and for others who work in close contact or with multicamera
productions to give a idea of what the multicamera directors work is like. I use a
case study to investigate how I find my roll in the team and how the circumstances affect
my work to show the love story between the operas two main characters to the audience. I
use both historical references and films and the score of the opera combined with my own
experiences I have gained through the project. I have limited my subject area to consist of
one scene of the opera and I describe my work through that specific scene.
