Underlag för Kimitoöns kommuns turismprogram : Ett förarbete för en turismstrategi

Abstract

Det behövs strategier för att kunna utveckla turismnäringen till en stabil och lönsam näring. Strategierna lyfter fram styrkorna och möjligheterna för ett område och stöder växt, konkurrenskraft och lönsamhet. Med hjälp av en strategi kan man se något som andra inte ännu uppfattar och på så sätt uppnå en gynnsam position på marknaden. Syftet med mitt examensarbete var att utveckla ett underlag för en turismstrategi i Kimitoöns kommun. I den teoretiska delen av examensarbetet behandlas ytterligare strategiarbetet och dess olika skeden. För utvecklingen av underlaget använde jag Hannu Tervonens modell för strategiutvecklade. Kimitoöns kommun har fungerat som uppdragsgivare för examensarbetet. I arbetet har jag använt mig av begreppet turismprogram istället för turismstrategi eftersom uppdragsgivaren så önskat. Underlaget som jag utvecklat finns som bilaga i examenarbetet. Innehållet i underlaget är till stor del uppbyggt på den teori som behandlas i detta arbete. Dessutom innehåller underlaget förslag och idéer eftersom detta var uppdragsgivarens önskemål.

Strategies are needed to develop tourism into a stable and profitable industry. They highlight the strengths and opportunities of an area and support the growth, competitiveness and profitability. Using a strategy, one can see something that others do not yet perceive, thus achieving a favorable market position. The purpose of my thesis is to develop a basis for a tourism strategy in the municipality of Kimitoön. The strategy and its various stages are further examined in the theoretical part of the thesis. Hannu Tervonen’s model for strategy development has been used in order to form the basis for the tourism program. The municipality of Kimitoön has served as client of the thesis. In the thesis the term tourism program has been used instead of the term tourism strategy because of the client’s wish. The basis for a tourism program that I have developed is attached as an appendix in the thesis. The content of the basis is largely based on the theory discussed in this thesis. The basis also includes an amount of suggestions and ideas for development, as this was the client’s wish.
