Tunnuslukuanalyysi, case Elisa Oyj

Abstract

Tutkimuksen kohteena oli Elisa Oyj:n taloudellinen tilanne ja sen kehitys vuosina 2016-2020. Yrityksen taloudellista tilannetta tutkittiin tilinpäätösanalyysin avulla, jossa käytettäväksi menetelmäksi valikoitui tunnuslukuanalyysi. Tutkimuksen teoriaosassa perehdyttiin tarkemmin tilinpäätökseen, tuloslaskelmaan ja taseeseen, sekä muihin huomionarvoisiin seikkoihin tilinpäätöksen osalta. Lisäksi perehdyttiin tilinpäätöksen tulkintaan ja tilinpäätösanalyysin määritelmään, sekä erilaisiin analyysimenetelmiin. Tunnuslukujen osalta perehdyttiin kannattavuuden, vakavaraisuuden sekä maksuvalmiuden tunnuslukuihin, niiden laskentamenetelmiin sekä viitteellisiin ohjearvoihin.

Työn empiirisessä osiossa tutustuttiin ensin yritykseen ja arvioitiin työn luotettavuutta sekä sen toteutustapaa. Itse tutkimuksessa perehdyttiin syvemmin kohdeyrityksen taloudelliseen tilanteeseen arvioimalla tunnuslukujen avulla yrityksen kannattavuutta, vakavaraisuutta sekä maksuvalmiutta. Tutkimuksessa käytettyjä tunnuslukuja laskettiin myös yrityksen suurimmille kilpailijoille, Telialle ja DNA:lle, ja näitä lukuja vertailtiin keskenään, jotta saataisiin parempi kuva koko toimialan tunnusluvuista.

Tutkimuksen perusteella voidaan arvioida kohdeyrityksen taloudellisen tilanteen olevan erittäin hyvä. Myös yrityksen kehitys on tunnuslukujen perusteella ollut tarkastelujakson aikana hyvin positiivinen.

The subject of the study was Elisa Corporation's financial situation and its development in 2016-2020. The company's financial situation was examined with the help of financial statement analysis, in which key figure analysis was selected as the method to be used. The theoretical part of the study focused on the financial statements, income statement and balance sheet, and other noteworthy aspects of the financial statements. In addition, the interpretation of financial statements and the definition of financial statement analysis, as well as various analysis methods were introduced. With regard to the key figures, the key figures for profitability, solvency and liquidity, their calculation methods and reference guidelines were examined.

In the empirical part of the work, the company was first introduced, and the reliability of the work and its implementation method were assessed. The study itself examined the financial situation of the target company in more depth by assessing the company's profitability, solvency and liquidity using key ratios. The key figures used in the study were also calculated for the company's largest competitors, Telia and DNA, and these figures were compared to obtain a better picture of the key figures for the industry as a whole.

Based on the study, it can be estimated that the financial situation of the target company is very good. Based on the key figures, the company's development has also been very positive during the review period.
