Toukokuussa 2020 he toteuttivat työntekijöilleen etätyöhön liittyvän kyselyn, jossa selvitettiin työntekijöiden tuntemuksia etätyöskentelyn alussa.
The purpose of this thesis was to find out how remote work has affected the work of the employees of the design agency Elomatic. The main goal of the work was to find out the effects of remote work on management, employee well-being at work and feelings about change.
The work was carried out as an assignment for the design agency Elomatic, which moved to remote work in April 2020 as a result of covid-19. In May 2020, they conducted a remote work survey for their employees to find out how employees felt at the beginning of remote work. With the help of the survey, Elomatic was able to take into account the employees' knowledge and experience of remote work when planning to generalize remote working as part of everyday work for the period after the remote work recommendation caused by covid-19.
The survey for this work was conducted in December 2020, when remote work had continued for 8 months. I made a new survey to find out employees feeling about remote work. Both qualitative and quantitative research methods were selected as research methods. The client wanted to find out how the results have changed from the first survey. We also wanted to add value to the survey and the work with new questions that clarified issues related to community and well-being at work. Both queries were conducted using Microsoft Forms.
The results of the survey generally showed satisfaction and willingness to continue performing remote work in a hybrid model after the remote work recommendations ended. There was a desire to make remote working a simple method of implementation, and well-being at work had increased between surveys. However, the results also revealed resistance to remote working. Lack of community and issues related to ergonomics came to the fore strongly in the negative aspects of remote work.
