Tiivistelmä
This thesis project's essential aim was to collect data from a production line and other sources in a packaging company. A Siemens PLC controls the production line to maintain the good quality of their products and facilitates finding any possible faults in the production system using AI software. So, transferring data from the production line to the database system was also the major focus of this thesis.

Data from both Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Siemens PLCs was fed to the systems for the collection of Big Data. The actual practical work started with creating tags to Mills ERP using the Kepserverex platform, which allows data handling hardware and software diverse applications to talk with each other. The next stage was creating Siemens PLC tags using the Tag Management editor which is provided by WinCC Configuration Studio. The data was created in the shape of data blocks and was presented in a different context on the user interface. The description of the data blocks, data creation rules, and instructions used during the importation of data were all taken from the commissioning data manual. However, the Kepserverex software was heavily tested to be the solution and a preferable linker between the OPC-UA server, the Mills ERP, and the Big Data for its excellence in communication and data transfer.

Resultantly, a user from the Quva Flow was able to track and determine the root cause of failure. The imported data to OPC-UA can be exported to another Wincc project in the "Office Open XML Workbook" format. That will be an innovation in data transfer from relevant resources to the database systems.
