Puiden kuntoselvitys ja kehittämissuunnitelma Haminan Husulan ja Hietakylän hautausmailla

Abstract

Viheralueet ja puut ovat tärkeä osa rakennettua ympäristöä, ja ne lisäävät ympäristön toimivuutta ja viihtyisyyttä sekä ihmisten hyvinvointia. Puiden kartoituksella ja kuntoarviolla saadaan tietoa puiden sen hetkisestä kunnosta, minkä perusteella voidaan suunnitella tarpeellisia hoitotoimenpiteitä ja arvioida puuston uudistamistarvetta.

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tehdä puiden kartoitus ja kuntoarviointi sekä laatia niiden perusteella puuston kehittämissuunnitelma. Työn tilaajana oli Haminan seurakunta ja työ tehtiin Haminan Husulan ja Hietakylän hautausmaille. Puista oli tehty edellinen kuntokartoitus vuonna 2005. Puiden kartoitusta ja kuntoarviointia tehtiin maastokäynneillä, ja niiden tulokset perustuvat pitkälti työn tekijän omaan näkemykseen ja kasvituntemukseen. Puuston kehityssuunnitelmat tehtiin kartoituksen ja kuntoarvion perusteella ottamalla huomioon myös hautausmaiden erityispiirteet.

Työn tuloksena saatiin selville puiden tämänhetkinen kunto puukohtaisesti ja niille tarvittavat toimenpiteet puiden säilyttämisenä hyväkuntoisina ja elinvoimaisina. Puiden kuntoon vaikuttavat monet eri tekijät, jotka on otettava huomioon puiden hoidossa ja hautausmaan ylläpidossa, mutta tärkein merkitys on kuitenkin oikeanlaisella kasvupaikalla.

Green spaces and trees are an important part of the built environment. They increase the functionality and comfort of the environment as well as human well-being. The survey of the trees and condition assessment provides information on the current condition of the trees. The planning of necessary management measures and the need for reform of the trees can be done on that basis.

The aim of this thesis was to make a survey and a condition assessment of the trees as well as devise a development plan. The thesis was commissioned by Hamina congregation and it was done for the Husula and Hietakylä cemeteries. The previous condition assessment was done in 2005. The survey and the condition assessment of the trees was made during the field visits and the results were based on the student's own vision and knowledge of the plants. Based on the results, the development plans for the trees were made. The specific features of the cemeteries were also taken into account.

As a result of the thesis the current condition of the trees was examined and the necessary management measures were planned to keep the trees in good condition and healthy. The condition of the trees is affected by many different factors that need to be considered in the care of the trees and the maintenance of the cemetery, but the most important factor is a right place for a tree to grow.
