This thesis contains a description of the suckler cow production and a description of the suckler cow production with Highland Cattle. The thesis also contains a study of the customers’ opinions about the current sales method of the meat on two different farms in Ostrobothnia, and a potential change of sales method on these farms. The thesis is carried out as a literary study, in combination with one survey that was sent out to the two participating farms’ customers.
The purpose of the study was to evaluate how the sales methods on the farms can develop in the future and if the customers would like other sales methods than the direct sales method.
The results from the study showed that the customers on these two farms are satisfied with the current sales method and prefer direct sales of the meat.
