Tämän toiminnallisen tutkimuksen tarkoitus oli tuoda metsä taiteellisen työskentelyn keskiöön, sen lähtökohdaksi ja aiheeksi. Metsäsamoilun ajateltiin tukevan tavoitteen toteutumista.
Tutkimus koostui neljästä osiosta:
Ensin samoiltiin metsissä herkistyen ja syventyen metsässä oleiluun. Seuraavaksi edettiin taiteelliseen työskentelyyn, jonka tavoitteena oli pysyä metsäaiheen sisällä. Kolmanneksi koottiin metsäsamoilujen tuloksena syntyneistä teoksista näyttelykokonaisuus. Johtopäätöksenä voitiin todeta, että valittu tutkimusote auttoi saavuttamaan tavoitteen. Syksyllä 2020 avattu näyttely koostui keramiikkaveistoksista ja grafiikan vedoksista, joista osa oli installoitu näyttelytilaan. Neljäs osio käy kirjallisesti läpi työskentelyprosessin kulkua ja tuo taiteellisen prosessin näkyväksi.
Tämä työ oli laadullinen tutkimus, jonka tutkimusmenetelminä olivat fenomenologinen ja autoetnografinen tutkimusote. Taiteellisen prosessin tutkimuksen lähtökohtana olivat tutkimuksen tekijän omat havainnot. Tiedon keräämisen aineistona toimivat päiväkirja, työpäiväkirja sekä muistelu. Abstract
The aim of this practice-based study was to bring the forest in to the center of artistic work. Forest was the starting point and the topic. It was thought that walks and being in the forest would help to achieve the goals that were set.
This study contained four sections:
The first part was to interact with the nature, to spend time in the forest and let yourself become sensitized. The next step was the artistic work. The goal was to keep inside of the frame of reference. The third section was to put together an art exhibition of the prior work. As a conclusion it could be stated that the chosen research method helped to achieve the goal. The opening of the art exhibition was in the autumn of 2020.
The exhibition consisted of ceramic work and printmaking art. Some of the work was positioned as an installation. The fourth part of the project was to go through the work process and to make it visible in literal form.
This work was a qualitive study. The research methods were fenomenological and autoetnografical. The basis of studying the artistic process were the observations made by the researcher herself. The data of the information was gathered from the diary, the work diary and reminiscence of the researcher.
