Guidelines for newcomers to web development career

Abstract

There is a large gap between the demand for skilled web developers/designers and the number of human resources who meets the requirements. Moreover, most of the current guides for web development career presented in technical news are so out of date, most of them did not have any update for years. Therefore, the aim of this bachelor’s thesis was to create a complete beginner’s guide for three main roles in web development field. My thesis solved the problem of most newcomers who do not know where to start or what they should learn to get a head start in this field.

This paper was conducted based on writer’s own experiences and through available graphs, figures, surveys about their popularity, the future of these technologies and the opportunities they provide for learners.

This research had conducted some back history about Internet and website/web development, roadmap for beginners to get start with web design, frontend development, backend development. And lastly, a portfolio website was created as an example to show that you do not need to know everything to start creating something.
