5G-arkkitehtruuri

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tutkia 5G-mobiiliverkon arkkitehtuuria ja sen rakentumista vanhan 4G-tekniikan päälle. Työssä tutkittiin myös 5G:n ydin-verkkoa sekä non-standalone- ja standalone-verkkoa. Samalla työssä selvitettiin, mitä uusia teknologioita 5G:n mahdollistamiseen tarvitaan ja miten ne käytännössä hyödyttävät mobiiliverkkoa. Opinnäytetyössä käytiin myös lävitse hyötyjä tai haittoja, joita 5G-mobiiliverkko voi saada aikaan.

Työssä esiteltiin muutamia tahoja, jotka ovat olleet kehittämässä 5G:tä. Siinä selvitettiin uuden tekniikan vaikutuksia tulevaisuuden sovellutuksiin. Myös 5G:n mahdollisia huonoja puolia, kuten tietoturvan tärkeyttä ja erinäisiä sätei-lyhaittoja, nostettiin esille. Opinnäytetyössä tutustuttiin myös tukiasemiin ja antenneihin sekä niiden merkitykseen 5G-mobiiliverkon rakentamisessa.

The purpose of this thesis was to investigate 5G mobile network architecture and the way it is built on the old 4G network. The thesis also examined 5G core network as well as non-standalone and standalone networks. At the same time new technologies which enable 5G and the practical benefits they bring to the existing mobile network were presented. This thesis presented advantages and disadvantages which 5G network might increase.

The thesis introduced a few organizations which have been developing 5G network. It also examined the effect of new technology on future applications. 5G’s disadvantages, for example information security and harmful radiation exposure, were presented as well. The thesis also explored base stations and antennas as valuable tools for building 5G network.
