Tiivistelmä
The aim of this thesis is to find out has the Covid-19 pandemic had an effect on the wellbeing of Amarillo Flamingo’s employees. Employee wellbeing is the driving force on the field of customer service. In this case restaurant industry. Great employee wellbeing enhances efficacy of the restaurant and hence gives out better experience for the customer and more revenue for the owner.
The thesis opens the definitions of different aspects of wellbeing. These three being physical, social, and mental. These three are explained and told why they correlate into the occupational wellbeing at workplace.
Covid-19 pandemic has been studied to give out relevant information regarding the symptoms, outbreak, effects in Finland and how the situation is now, after a year when the first positive case was found in Lapland.
The research focuses on finding if there has been and effect on the wellbeing of employees during the pandemic. This research uses quantitative method, more precisely an online survey to gather data from the employees in Amarillo Flamingo. These responses are then compared to a report made by Sokotel Oy, in late 2019.
The research will show that the Covid-19 pandemic has had no significant effect on the wellbeing of Amarillo Flamingo’s employees during the past year. This report cannot necessarily be compared straight into the satisfaction survey next year but it is a great tool for the commissioner liaison, restaurant manager of Amarillo Flamingo to use as a directional guide when interpreting next years work satisfaction survey’s results.
This thesis was commissioned by Sokotel Oy, Break Sokos Hotel Flamingo, Amarillo.
