Employability of international graduates with an African background from university of applied sciences in Finland

Abstract

This thesis focuses on the different nationalities that travel many miles to the university of applied sciences in Finland to study and after study life, what is their employability upon graduation? Are they employed with the same qualifications gotten from the university of applied sciences in Finland? Meanwhile, there is concern on international students with an African background on their future upon graduation. It is a growing worry for learners that their fate of fitting into the Finnish job market is not guaranteed as there are gaps in the acceptance of these potential employees. One of the key issues is living and getting employed and fitting into the jobs available giving the diversities in culture and how this is managed from both the employer and international students point of view. The current review looks at theory, practices, and experiences in this regard before drawing conclusions and mapping the way forward.
