In today's society, although fossil fuels provide energy and materials for mankind, the use of fossil fuels has brought serious environmental problems. Fossil fuels are non-renewable fuels, and the stock in the Earth crust is limited. It will dry up soon. Fossil fuels contain sulphur, which produces toxic sulphur dioxide when burned. It also causes acid rain and damages the ecological balance. The burning of fossil fuels also produces carbon particles, which pollute the air and cause respiratory diseases. The carbon dioxide produced by the burning of fossil fuels is also the main cause of global warming and the greenhouse effect. Therefore, people should try their best to find new energy sources to replace fossil fuels and reduce the burden on the Earth in all aspects. With the development of society, cars in the world have become common. Most cars are powered by burning fossil fuels. Therefore, finding alternative fuels for fossil fuels is a problem that mankind must solve. Biodiesel is a good choice.
This article starts with fossil fuels, and introduces the formation, development status, application and existing shortcomings of excessive burning of fossil fuels. Then emphasized the importance of developing biodiesel. Starting from biofuels, the thesis roughly introduces its types, with the focus on biodiesel. The history, development, preparation methods of biodiesel, vehicles using biodiesel, and the forecast of the development prospects of biodiesel are all introduced in the thesis.
