Heuristisilla evaluoinneilla saatiin todella kattavasti arvioitua Demola-projektialustan käytettävyyttä.
The Bachelor’s thesis was commissioned by Demola Global Oy to develop an international electronic project platform. The aim was to find out whether the project platform was easy to use for the university students who have participated in the Demola projects, whether they were satisfied with the tools, and to look for possible problems in the project environment.
The theory basis orients reader to various usability theories as well as their evaluation methods. In the study research methods were chosen to be heuristic evaluation and electronic survey, which results were mutually supportive, resulting in a comprehensive usability assessment of the project platform.
In addition to the measuring of university students' satisfaction with the project platform tools, the survey also found out suggestions for improving the project platform. The result of the survey was that a significant majority were satisfied with the project tools and their usability, and that respondents would have liked more and better notifications of future issues and deadlines from the system.
Heuristic evaluations provided a truly comprehensive assessment of the usability of the Demola project platform. The results of the evaluations were that the project platform was functional and uniform in appearance, but according to the heuristics, some usability problems were found in the platform.
Based on the obtained results, Demola Global Oy is able to plan and further develop its international project environment for university students in more detail.
